The Import Shootout was last night at San Antonio Raceway. The 2 fastest imports were Rick from SA in his blue EVO with the gold wheels running an 11.7 at 123 and the guys from MZM in their 02 WRX with the JDM Spec C motor swap and an SR55 running 11.8 at 121.

I was shocked to see how hard the WRX pulled and to find out it was only running 21 psi of boost. I think Rick was putting about 30 psi through his GT35.

Congratulations to both on some great runs! I am sure they could both knock some time off if they could drop their 60s, neither was much below 1.9 IIRC.

And in case anyone wants to know. The 11.8/121 was on 104 octane with sixties in the 1.8's.

Can someone translate those numbers MZM made with that SR55 into a 0-60 time----maybe just an approximate. Would that definitely be less than 4 seconds?

I am sure it is under 4. My time slip gives me a 4.45 0-60 and I ran a 12.93. I will find out MZM's 1/8 time and mph and use the calculator. I would guess about 3.6 to 3.7 to 60.

According the the calculator here, MZM had a 0-60 time of 3.28 seconds with a 7.69 sec 1/8 mile at 91.89

Hey, I made 3/4 place before Rick's 11 second EVO took me out in the semi's.

Did anyone get any pics of the cars? There was a good turnout of EVO/WRX's.

Qualifying run was my best with a 12.92@105.x with a 1.9x 60'. I was cutting 1.78's a few weeks ago, so my 12.7-8's just weren't in the cards. My other two runs has 1.9 and 1.99 60's (spun all of first all 3 runs).

When I got home I noticed my tire pressure was at 40/44 psi f/r

Eh well, this is with 16psi on 93 full weight. I'll go back soon to avenge myself. I've been out of the game too long :p

Thanks for the conversion robertrinaustin. I almost had them do some work for me---they were one of the early leaders in upgrades for the STi back in '03, with people like Godspeed (Dan), but the price was to steep. They are working some miracles with that freakin E-manage.

You ought to check them out again. They are using Eccutek (sp) now with pretty good results from what I hear. They are also fair and honest and that is hard to find in their line of work.

We need to do another track day! I've got to get down to 12.5.

Maybe I will give them a call---I already have the first Ecutek flash, but going through that dreaded process of trying to decide on my turbo upgrade. I don't want to get out of forum, but Green vs SR55. It was Green until I saw what MZM got out of that WRX.

Call them and tell them Robert told you to call about the SR55 special. I think they are doing discounted installs between now and the end of the year, but I don't know for sure and they havn't announced anything.

I would love to see what that thing would do on a Legacy GT, The SR55 and a few choice mods and maybe you're in M5 territory, at least the old one.
