Q: Where is the Mid-Atlantic Region?

A: Mid-A is a state of mind, not a state of residence. Only the coolest of the cool would even bother posting here. If the shoe fits, wear it!

That being said, most of the posters in this forum live in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and West Virginee. Pennsylvania folks are not sure if they are NorthEast or Mid-A, so occasionally they just move on down here to clear up any ambiguity.

Q: Do you guys (and gals, there are gals, aren't there?) ever get together?

A: Actually, that is 2 questions. There are at least a couple of gals who post in here, but I don't know that they have been to any of the organized meets, maybe some of the mini-meets.

Q: Where is a good local place to pick up Altezza lights for my Impreza?

A: Umm, maybe you should read the first question and answer.

Q: Is there like a real Subaru club here?

A: There have been rumblings of creating an Impreza car club in the area, with the purpose of having marquee events, etc. Hasn't quite come together yet. Want to volunteer?

There is a "Subaru Club of America," and it is based in Delaware (sure, it could be Mid-A, too!). The website is http://www.subaruclub.com They do some cool events like a Fall Foliage tour and stuff like that - even gimmick rallies.

Q: Where can I autocross?

A: Lots of places in the DC area, plus or minus. There is a MidAtlantic Council which coordinates things between various car clubs in the area. You can find the council events at the ALTD website (http://www.autocrossers.org). Other clubs and venues: NASA Virinia Region (http://www.nasaracing.net), Virginia Motorsports Club (http://www.vmsc.org).

Q: What about rallying? Rallying is cool!

A: In this past year we have gotten SCCA sponsored RallyCross here in Mid-A. Lots of fun. Check it out at http://www.dcrally.com . Know of any open fields where we can play?

PS - hitting a tree results in automatic deduction of cool points.

Q: What if I want to run my Subie on a race track?

A: There are a number of different companies that run Track Days, Performance Driving Schools, and Time Trials at some Local (and some not so local) tracks. Best thing to do is click on the names below and check their sites.

Its a great way for people to stay in touch. Like when friends go away to college or move somewhere. That way you wont have enormous phone bills, but with free long distance on cell phones now this is less of an issue. and you can "talk" to more then one person at one time. You can also see what friends are doing by looking at away messages.

I work in Arlington...drive an hour there and back everyday, and have only seen 1-2 fellow peeps...I have been working like crazy but slowing down now, I'm going to try and make the next big Fairfax meet you guys have. I have so many parts to install but just dont have the time:o I need to hit B&N also if people still hang out there. I was there last year with a few of the Audi guys and didn't see to many scoobs. Haha, Pennsburg is the home of the rednecks. Nothing is "cooler" then lifted trucks (amazingly lifted), chewing tobacco, driving around tractors and riding bulls on the weekends. The guys at work think the pink "i" badge and fog light covers are ugly. I think the pink-on-black looks good. Am I the only one?

Nah, no oil mod is needed. I found that when I try to reach 8k RPMs the car automatically stops producing power. So, since going past redline means no wear on the engine, I'll just stick with a once-in-a-lifetime Slick50 application.

Love the car, but how'd you get the AFC to work with the 2000 ECU? Do you have to reset the ECU every day to keep it from tuning around the AFC?

yea, i have the afc there for show i guess... it looks cool. i actually leaned out hi-throttle out. like 20%. the car felt good for like...a week... lol. now it is just there for no reason. i'm going to keep it to tune the WRX engine when i do the swap. i might use the utec for tuning though, so the safc might just go to waste.

i'm thinking, turboback exhaust and intake tuned with a utec on a WRX engine is good for around 280 crank hp? i think that will keep me busy for a while considering the old school impreza is lighter and i'll have short ass RS gear ratios.... that is...until i become boost happy.
