Hi I just bought an 05 WRX and my goal is to get it into the low 13's. I dont know much about these cars or what products to get or stay away from. I was looking around and it seems like there were some a few suggestions but the same part could made by different manufactures and could range from 100 to 400. This seems like a huge difference for a part. Some people even seem to mod stuff on there own, this could be an option.
I need to know what parts to get and what parts are just not worth the money.. I dont care about looks or name brands the only thing im interested in is low 13's for the least amount of money as possible.
things ive heard of
Exaust
Down Pipe
Up Pipe
Boost Controller (electronic)
Air Intake
NOS
dunno any ideas, would be helpful
Thanks for the help

Low 13s is possible with just a full catless turboback, catless uppipe, and tuned engine management. It also helps to drive the car like you are trying to break the gearbox.
It's possible to get into the high 12s on the stock turbo. It all comes down to how well you drive.
No nos, no intake, no boost controller.

And no BOV. I know you want one so I'm gonna stop you now. The most WHP you wanna shoot for is about 240-260. This should get you into the high 12's without more wear than what is to be expected from pushing an engine toward it's limits.
Look at vishnu.com for a good idea of what the different upgrades are. They know what they are doing, so figure out what they're doing to get more power, then go somewhere else and buy the parts cheaper, install them yourself, then go to vishnu to get it tuned. You'll smoke EVO's and poorly driven STi's left and right, on the track of course.
Congratulations on your new ride and NEVER do anything without consulting your fellow nasioc...ians...? Any problem you ever have can be answered here, from how to get a friggin bolt off to how to dump your 7 month pregnant girlfriend...(i'm not talking about you muffin)...*ehem*...anyways.
Have fun. Be safe. Define your car, not vise versa. Good driving starts with good decisions...ummm, keep your hands on 9 and 3(10 and 2 can brake your arms if the airbag deploys) and, don't speed. ADVICE DISPERSED!!!

look around see and hear some exhaust to see what you like. I think the Helix uppipe is the way to go its not to expensive and good quality and its a flex. Downpipe I dont know which one would be good, I had a custome downpipe made (make sure you get a bellmouth). For you it wont matter if its a 2.5 or 3 inch because of what you say you want (low 13s) but when you get there your gonna want more but anyway 2.5 will do just fine and probably cheaper then a 3 inch but if you know that when you get there your gonna want more get the 3inch. next get engine management Cobb Accessport is probably your best bet and the safest one. Once again if your gonna stop there then the Cobb is the best one because its pretty much plug and play no tuning and you got a pretty safe map so you dont have to worry about the car.
no Intakes (atleast NO cold air intake makes you run lean) I dont have one but a friend of mine has a short ram and he says he feels the difference I guess the short ram aint too bad. NO bov you dont need one till you get a lot of power and for what you want the stock one will be fine and trust me you will hear it not so loud but it sounds nice. I dont know much about boost controllers but with the accessport you should be boosting mid 15 psi or so and running very rich so I guess it couldnt hurt to turn the boost up to lets say 17 psi but I dont know so dont do it till you can get some better advice on that from someone else. Nos well for what you want you dont need it you will get there easily (good driver needed) but you should be able to get low 13s with a turboback exhaust uppipe and cobb accessport

DO NOT run any manual or electronic boost controller with the Accessport. If you do, there is a high possibility of engine damage. I got this info straight from Cobb Tuning and then I promptly removed my manual boost controller.
