So driving to the store to get eggs, i start it and i can smell gas, drive away and its goes away, figure it was someone next to me. Leave store and i smell it again, and pretty much everytime i rev. - HMMmmm get home and pop hood, i see vapor rising from my pass side from what seems right below my front spark plug on that side... after a little snooping i found that my vaccumm hose to the valves on the Other side had come off on the air box..
A: how bad is that? been sucking in bad air for the valves and bypassing the air filter for the intake :<
b: What would cause the vapor/smoke thing on the other side? Could the be related?
kinda worried now :( :( :(

My roommate's WRX smelled like gas when it got cold. He took it to the stealership and they fixed it right away. I don't remember what the cause was, but I am under the impression that they know the problem and it is common because they did it immediately and gave the car back to him that day.

ok, well reading up on the TSB - seems to be only for 2.0L Turbos, doesnt help with the gas smell.. no more smoke from the pass side, and the breath tube is back in place
if i were to bring it in (unless anyone else has ideas on what it might be) Would a DIY CAI be something that would kill my warr.? (the little i have left) - probably a dealer by dealer situation eh?
