I second TurboXS. They have a mechanic just down the way from their location who has done a few swaps as well. Better to talk to them to hear what they recommend.

Good Luck

www.quantum-racing.com They are just NW of Columbus, Ohio -- 4 hours closer to you than Turbo XS. AWD Dynapak dyno, great tuning and full service including motor swaps, etc. My STI and EVO have had well over $30k in work done by Quantum. They know their stuff and stand behind their work.

what engine management systems does quantum-racing work with the most? I think they are going to be my best bet. I have head some good stuff about them.

Mark and Bryon at Quantum are experts at UTEC, E-manage and AEM. Mark can also tune Motec, Link, and others. For Subies Utec would be the most common choice. They have tuned my STI with the Utec and my Evo with the AEM. They will also be tuning with the new Hydra. Dynotune, roadtune, or both. I would suggest you have a wideband bung or make arrangements for Quantum to weld one in before investing in tuning. Tuning is what makes power. Good tuning makes power with driveability and safety. Quantum does the whole job.

04Blackscubby, we should get together and get them tuned together for cheaper (this is terry from h-town if you know me, you're fisher/fischer right?) i'll be ready for a tune sometime in january. i was planning on going to turbo xs, but if theres one closer i'll do that instead. i'm doing some major engine work, and should be done in mid january.

Yep,

Mark had my UTEC installed faster than I could read the instructions. I was a little hesitant on taking my car to someone that really isn't known (ie: God, Junior, etc...) but when they put the UTEC in the car, and booted up the software, and FLEW through the menus, I realized that they had done this once or twice.

i can hook you up with one of the best subaru mechanics on the planet, a certified master tech of 10 years+. He cant tune, but he can do anything else you ever need. I worked with this guy at Huntington Subaru for several years. let me know if you are interested.

Upgrades LLC in huntington can help with installs. but no tuning. call tony there for prices and tell him terry sent you. then after i install the stuff for him, you and i should carpool to a dyno for some tuning.

Nope, Larry left the subaru dealership a few years ago and opened his own shop, he worked for Huntington Subaru for 10+ years. I worked for Huntington Subaru for about 3 1/2 years while I was at Marshall. I can guarentee you he is the most experienced subaru mechanic around.
