Ok i am looking into a motor swap since mine is now toast.
I have a 1997 Legacy GT wagon.
The WRX swap is always a nice option but too much $$$.
So I want to keep it simple and NA.
Anyone know what a H6 swap would cost in labor?
Is it as much work as a wrx swap?
It's either the H6 or back to a 2000ish 2.5 with some Cobb tidbits.

The 6 Cylinder is as much, if not more work than the WRX Swap. You've still got the same amount of wiring (maybe more wiring due to the two extra cylinders) If you want to ask someone who has done the swap, talk to Anders8 on here, and check out these pages:

It's more work than a WRX swap, and probably more expensive. H6 motors are harder to find, harder to get aftermarket parts for, and just as difficult to wire.
Honestly, though, WRX swaps are getting cheap.
One could find a motor and harness, ECU for $1500 or so... and there are plenty of people who have done it before and can lend a hand.

"Yeah, I know all about putting it into a green car, but does anyone know about the conversion for a red car?"
Since you apparently want just a bottom line on this: $10,300
What about the new H6 in the 2005 models?
$12,100
Thread go away now please.
