Thanks! Unabomber 12-31-2004, 12:31 PM For the best fit, use a Subaru washer. Once you know the size/material type, you could substitute if you wish. Another option is www.fumotovalve.com that is quite popular here. It allows you to say bye-bye to washers and simplifies the oil change. Bishop 12-31-2004, 01:30 PM the fumoto valve is a very good option. been lovin mine since the install. DJ_STI 12-31-2004, 05:41 PM I don't think autozone or napa will have the crush washers, I heard from someone that they are pretty hard to find and your best luck will be the subaru dealership. And when I go by my subaru oil filters they always come with the crush washer. I think its like 4.99 or something like that. Mulder 12-31-2004, 05:43 PM You can also use copper sealing washers instead of the crush type. The crush washer on my car was already leaking at the first oil change, I've been using copper ones since then with no leaks. Charlie-III 12-31-2004, 05:44 PM 1-I reuse mine and have no issues (flame suit on now). 2-Some dealers will just hand them out. 3-Take an old one to a NAPA or whatever and get a solid copper one. They can last the life of your car. 4-NAPA, or whatever, may not have an "exact" replacement. 5-A Fumoto valve has had good reviews. Note: There is no "sealing washer" on the oil filter, but there is a rubber gasket. Make sure the old one is off the engine before installing the new filter.
