I'm having some frustrating problems with my car - here is a link a discussion of the problem: http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=001418

Any suggestions?

If you noticed, he replaced the IAC on 12/29.

As to a suggestion, it could be many things.

There are few facts. That's a chance to be creative.

At least it can't be due to automatic transmission failure.

I recently bought a scantool from scantool.net - it can display realtime data from the sensors to a laptop. The voltage readings for the front 02 sensor were all over the place and the car - according to the scan tool- went back and forth a few times from open loop to closed loop and finaly just stayed in "open loop, driving" The voltage reading for the front o2 sensor ended up being 7.995 at that point, where as before it would bounce around, end up at 7.995 for a bit and then bounce around more. Other than a bad o2 sensor - I replaced it a while ago - what could cause the readings to be so messed up?

Oh, and the CEL for p0130 - front o2 sensor circuit malfunction - is on.

I'd suggest you swap with a buddy and see if that fixes it. The front O2 sensor is real pricey, so I'd check first before buying.

7.995V? In relation to the ground? That's really, really wrong. Narrowband sensors should never read more than 1V and widebands (the kind WRX's have) should never read more than 5V. 7.995V is wrong. That guy is b0rk3d hardcore.
