I have a '03 wrx w/50,000 miles and with a stock clutch. and the problem I have is the clutch is really hard to push down. I have had three other people with a stock wrx clutch tell me that my clutch takes a lot more force to push down "feels like an aftermarket clutch". It is not so hard that my leg hurts, but after a while it can get a bit annoying. I have no clue what it could be, the clutch doesn't slip at all. Someone hinted to me it is probably the throw out bearings.

Anyways it makes a slight quick squeeking noise when i push down the clutch, almost sounds like it needs some wd-40. I have no clue what is wrong, any help would be great.

It's either an internal clutch issue (throwout bearing, release fork) or hydraulics (defective master cylinder). You'll have to get it looked at to find out for sure what it is.

I also had the same complaint on my 2000RS. Feels like a car with a worn clutch cable except I don't have a clutch cable!

Well, I just took my trans out to put an ACT flywheel in. I noticed the throw out bearing slides back and forth on the trans case (the part of the trans case that wraps around and supports the input shaft). Just moving the through out bearing back and forth by hand I could feel friction - they grease was totally dried up. I'll grease this up when I put my trans back in and see if it was the cause of the problem. I couldn't see any other area where this "stickyness" could occur.
