smooth the transitions. take lots of logs of the crossover. make changes to the low load areas of your maps so that your timing does not jump much when the utec takes control.

with the sti utec and no w/b you cannot look at afrs unfortunately, so only half the story. but a start nonetheless.

Log the timing transitions and look at the injector duty cycle at the same time. Match them and the transition will be invisable. If you are running a stock intake then use ECU timing below 40% load column. The timing transition from 40% to 50% will be more consitant than from 0% to 10%. Then you just have to monitor what the fueling is doing. Monitor it going in and out of UTEC control. Once the UTEC is in control you can do whatever you like.

fueling for me made the biggest changes in the hesitation.. I would start my car at 1.5K in 5th and do a pull to about 40% load then start at 2K and on up to starting about 3.5K... after each pull I'd adjust fueling to try to keep the AFR transition smooth.. this got rid of about 95% of the crossover issues.
