I tried to upgrade the Utec version from 2.5b to version 4.2 but when it tries to verfy the update file, it saids wrong ID code, does anyone know what's wrong?

did you follow the upgrad directions? Did you have the switch set in the right position on the utec or the jumpers set up right (depends on version)? Do you have the latest version of the utec flash programmer? Get the 4.2 software again and make sure it's correct (not a corrupt file) Then try to load it all again...

I have never seen that error before so I'm just trying to rule out all the likely causes of version upgrade failure. If you repeat the above steps and noone else has any idea contact TXS let them know what you did and they'll help you.

i have a question...since i have a version 3.1, will i need to upgrade to a 4.2c from the site?

In the flash program go to the "Options" menu. Click on the "Change ID Code". Make sure that the code is set to all zeros by clicking on "Zero".

However this number should not normally have been changed so something else may be happenning.
