I'm buying an entirely new system......and I need to know 100% for sure what size speakers fit in the front and rear doors of the 2005 STI. I think it changed from 2004; and Crutchfield can't help me unless I know for sure.

I did that; people talked about it alot in different threads, but I never read what size front, what size rear for sure. And max mounting depth would be helpful, too!
I'm interested in buying Polk / Momo components for the front, and the same for the rear doors but 2-ways. I'm sure a lot of people on this board have installed Polk / Momo systems in their '05 STIs......just need some info!

i just did mine, they are like 4.25 inches , but i used some 4 inch speakers with some custom spacers i made and they work great

You said "like" 4.25 inches.......but is that in the rear doors?

its the same as the regular wrx...

STI change from 2004 to 2005. Require only the standard wrx kits. No need for custom tweeter brackets and nylon fasteners as 2004 models do.

What's unclear about IA Performance's site? Use whatever the 04 uses, but you don't need tweeter brackets or nylon fasteners.

Cool....got it! Thanx. I went back to IA's website and now it makes sense to me; that no matter what the factory speaker sizes were, I CAN install 6.5" up front and 5.25" in the rear like I want ( with their spacer / adapter ring kit, of course!) :D
