Hey,

I was wondering, I tried searching, what someone's driving experience was like if someone had AP, then moved to a UTEC. I'm torn between the two, and was thinking about getting an AP until 60k, then getting a UTEC or am I being stupid? I like the fact the AP can't be detected, so I figure thats the way to go while the car is in warranty. Anywho, back to the question, I figure, based upon searching, that the accessport is safer out of the box than the UTEC, and even with a stage UTEC map, additional tuning may be needed becuase of the car running rich or high EGT, and the UTEC comes "online" above 60% throttle? Correct so far? That said, is the AP smoother b/c the ECU has an entirely adjusted map, compared to the UTEC at lower throttle inputs?

Looking for inputs from drivers that have had AP then moved to a UTEC, or have driven both. Is one smoother than another? One "feel" better than the other. Other impressions?

A final question (maybe ;)), does the UTEC have any of the piggyback syndrome that I heard affected the Unichip?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
C.k.

Driving experience is never about the technology, its about the tune. With an equal (considering) tune, you wont tell the difference between the AP or UTEC. Yes, the UTEC can have the "syndrome" but again properly tuned you wont notice it.
