PROBLEMS hyperterminal & UTEC i get -/%WE1/4 etc... on the hyperterminal screen.. It was working fine and some one was messing with my laptop in my car and closed the laptop while it was still connected via hyperterminal.. NOW i get #$(-2#($ crap all down the screen..


I have done the following..
1. replaced the serial cable.
2. tried another laptop.
3. unpluged the UTEC waited a min or so and reconnected.

Plz Help~~~

Double check your still talking to it in vt100... I just got similar garbage, but realized my 9volt I was using was low on juice... This doesn't seem to apply to you if you have it in the car.

Check your baud rate (19200) and other settings on Hyperterminal.
Also try 4800 baud rate in case it was changed on the UTEC.

Thank you that was exactly what it was He was trying to turn off the launch control and he turned the baud rate to 4800
