Hi everyone. Newbie here with a few quick questions. I'm considering the purchase of an 03 wrx with the gold plus extended warranty through 80k miles.
My question is does this warranty cover bumper-to-bumper as the factory 3/36 warranty does? Also, is it possible to sell the warranty back after having the warranty transferred to me if I don't want it?
Sorry for all the questions. I also tried the search function, but could not find anything specific plus I ran out of patience.
Thanks,
Chris

First, you should find out what the deductible is on the Gold Plus, and how many years from the car's original purchase date (the "in-service date") it lasts, as there are many combinations of options on the Gold Plus.
Then, call Subaru, explain that you would be the 2nd owner and how many months/miles are on the car, and ask them (a) is there any fee to transfer the Gold Plus to you and (b) could it be refunded either to you or to the original owner.
As for coverage, the Gold Plus is pretty much bumper-to-bumper, but it excludes wear items, which the 36/36 does not. So, you won't get new brake pads, or a replacement for a worn-out clutch. However, if the clutch breaks (not from wear), that should be covered. For each "incident", you pay up to the deductible, then the warranty covers the rest; it also includes various side items like Subaru Roadside Assistance (free or cheap tow to nearest Subaru dealer) and things like that.

I know this is a stupid question, but since there is a deductable involved would there be a chance that they will not void warranties for repairs if there are stage 2 mods done to it? I got my 04 wrx as a gift so i had no say in what warranties were involved, i found out i have the extended 6yr/80k.

Remember, they don't actually "void warranties", they "deny coverage under warranty"; I can't see how having the deductible would make any difference, unless the deductible covers the full repair cost ;) .
I'd call up SOA and find out how much of a refund you can get on the extended warranty.

ditto, in fact the extended warranty doesn't even apply unless the 3/36 or 5/60 won't cover it.
