View Full Version : RS Bulkhead wiring harness

Hey Guys,

Ive been reading the Conversions section of the forum for a couple weeks now. Hopefully I will have a ej205 sitting in my garage ready for a swap. I was wondering if I could receive some feedback on my situation.

I will be getting the full wiring with the ej205. Currently I have the option of purchasing a 99RS wiring harness. But I have to remove it from the donor car myself.

I want to minimize car downtime as much as possible.
My question is: Will having an extra RS Bulkhead wiring harness be of any use? Basically is it just as easy to wire the harnesses outside teh car then put them back into the RS? Or is it easier to strip the WRX harness and splice it with teh existing harness while its in teh car?

The most time consuming part is the wiring of the harnesses. I was hoping that the extra harness could be spliced with the wrx harness outside the car, leaving me with a car to drive. Then when the combined harness is complete, just swap harnesses.

2) What wiring sections will I need from the donor RS to make a combined wrx and rs harness? I have to pull it myself so I do not know exactly what to look for.

Thanks for your input.

If you can get a spare harness for the same year car you are doing a swap in then by all means get it. It will make things a little easier being that you can send out the two harnesses to someone too if you do not feel comfortable doing the wiring and essentially what you'll get back is a plug and play harness.

Get it! Having a spare harness makes things so much cleaner and faster for the actual swap part. I wish I would have had one for my swap.

So if you had both harnesses, who could you send it out to? Ispeed? Rallispec?

Send them to me. I'll fab you up the harness that you need in no time and for a reasonable price too.
