Hi i recently bought a set of used jdm projectors.

i ordered some H1 halogen philips vision plus bulbs, but eventually want to go with hids.

i plan on opening up the lights to change the beam pattern to left hand drive too. doing that this weekend since i dont like the current beam pattern.

anyways, i was wondering where i could find good deals on rebased d2s bulbs that'll fit into the H1 in the jdm lights. i've googled and searched the internet but would like some help.

i would like to get philips rebased bulbs but it seems like everywhere i look they are expensive at 135-150 per bulb. I've seen unmodified philips d2s bulbs for for much much cheaper.

if i cant find cheap bulbs and ballasts, i'll prob just go with a h1 hid kit on ebay or on the web. but i would prefer brand name components.

thanks!

Gary - I would highly recommend posting your message with the HID ethusiast crwod over here:

They have an online store also that sells Philips bulbs with some adapters. I would go with an HID kit either Philips, Hella, and/or Osram components.

thanks for the info. actually i have been trolling the hidplanet forums....but havent posted. i will probably do that before i purchase the hid setup.

i want to go brand name..but from my research it seems like that would cost around 400-500.

while the muculloch you can get for 285 shipped off ebay.....

it would be hard for me to spend lots of money on hids...when i need new shocks...lol

oh yah i forgot to mention the adapters wont work for me...i need a d2s-h1 adapter they sell the h7 adapter.

i've googled for d2s-h1 adapters and such..but have not found any yet.
it would be cool if i could find an adapter...then i wouldnt need to get expensive rebased bulbs

Be aware of the McCulloch HIDs as the first generation had lots of problems with the ballasts and bulbs. Seems like the second gens. are doing better from what I've read. Maybe you could include how you're looking for a D2S H1 adapter in your post on the hidplanet forums :)

Hope it turns out well for ya...

There is no such thing as an H1-D2S adapter, or adapters for any other bulb base other than H7. This is because H7 is the only configuration that allows the D2S bulb to be mounted in the housing directly in place of the halogen bulb, the purpose of the adapters is to center the bulbs so they are located correctly.
