Hey everyone,
I'd appreciate feedback. I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing more caster but someone explain how much more or less it will drop my times.
2 Choices are:
Stock STi Struts with STi Pink Springs and Cusco Camber Plates
or
WRX/RS Struts with Koni Inserts and STi Pink Springs and Cusco Camber Plates
I am getting a good deal but I want to know if my decisions make sense. I am leaning towards using the koni set-up.
Thanks,
Justin
PS - Any notes on caster increase effects on the auto-cross course would be appreciated.
How much of a difference will caster adjustability make.

Camber plates and full sized coil springs are generally not good together since the large springs run out of room before the plates do.
I vote Ground-Control coil-overs on Koni Inserts with Cusco Plates.

i voted for the koni/pinks setup, but i should note that it wouldn't be my first choice. the shocks are fine, but those spring rates are WAY too soft for a WRX.
caster is a "feel" adjustment. it won't directly affect your time on course (unless you have a LOT of caster, like 30*'s or something crazy) but it might make you more comfortable which could make you faster.

Are you thinking Version 7 Pinks?

Myles, The ones available on your site. This is my daily driver 1000+ miles a month. I didn't want to go really stiff.

none of the above. You're going to get a lot of body roll with sticky r-compound tires and relatively soft springs that are somewhat lower than stock. Your stated options seem like a recipe for spending lots of time on the bumpstops.

If so, are you saying I shouldn't use victo-racers? I understand where your coming from. I am only competing locally and I have heard the "pinks" are a good "next step" and I am currently having the "clunk" problem in my rear shocks and it drives me nuts every day. I picked up a cheap set of shocks and konis so that is why I am thinking of going this route. I would assume I will have less body roll than last season in AS ( I am adding the rear sway this year )but I see what you are saying about the tires, they will be sticky compared to the bridgestones.
Overall, compared to a stock STi, am I making some improvement?
Does anyone else share this view?
Thanks,
Justin
