Which skills for which?etc.. thanks Writing full sentences would help people understand what you are going for :) Autocross is done on pavement. Rallycross is done on dirt. Skills: Car control :) If you have specific questions, feel free to ask :) john akuhner 01-16-2005, 12:17 PM Autocross is done on pavement. Rallycross is done on dirt. Both require car control skills. End Of Thread Chris N 01-16-2005, 01:18 PM If you've never tried either, go and do both. Having your car stock, or in a stock class is the best way. Both Auto-x and Rally-x success solely depend on driver talents. Cars are classed accordingly. Right now your car is 2 times faster than you are. It will take approx 2 years of auto-x or rally-x to become proficient enough to drive your car at it fullest potential during each event, each run. You will think others are faster than you because of the car they drive, but its not true. Its what they have learned. Its what you haven't learned. Their experiences are different than yours. Driving is not a natural God/Alah/Budda given talent, its a learned skill that needs polishing and improvement every time you get behind the wheel. Now, get out there and JUST DO IT! :D The best part is that its fun, both auto-x and rally-x. The people there are fun to be around. I like to ask a veteran driver to ride with me and give me pointers and help and critiques. The results (lower times) come a lot quicker and frustration is eliminated. BlazingEngine 01-16-2005, 02:27 PM awsome, thanks guys for the input, exactly what i wanted I'm sigining up for HPD school soon, so ill be out there on the tracks in a short while. thanx blazing zoomfactor 01-16-2005, 05:40 PM I'll just say for auto-x my car was 10X more fun, once I went to coilovers. But the spring rates that are most effective for auto-x (400-600#) would render the car undriveable for rally-x. Pick your poison:) |
