Thanks in advance for your help! Matt zzyzx 01-18-2005, 02:41 AM How cracked? SpeedAbsolute 01-18-2005, 02:48 AM One crack that runs almost 1/3rd of the windshield. It starts at the bottom driver's corner and goes up at a 45 degree angle and then starts to run horizontal. It does not obstruct my sight at all. I am postponing replacement as long as I can because my WRX appears to be a target for rocks on the freeway... Thanks! Matt AUTOwrXER 01-18-2005, 02:57 PM Matt, Who is your insurance with? Most companies have special groups that handle windshield repairs at no cost to you. Some states even replace cracked or chipped windshields at no charge. IMO, just get it replaced now and be done with it. I had a very good experience with Progressive and Safelite repairing a rock chip on my '02 WRX. Joel SpeedAbsolute 01-18-2005, 07:05 PM already called my insurance - it falls under my comprehensive coverage so I am on my own. I think they offer windshield insurance so I may add it on there for next time (I really don't know why I didn't have it in the first place). Matt zzyzx 01-19-2005, 03:33 AM I believe there might be a rule about cracks. I wouldn't expect a protest by tech unless somebody is being really anal. SpeedAbsolute 01-20-2005, 01:37 AM I downloaded the 2005 Solo rulebook and didn't see anything specific relating to cracked glass - that isn't to say it won't fall under a general safety issue. |
