Are there any Hydra users up north where the temperature has dropped to around 0 degrees F like me? cause my car wont start with the Hydra in it. It starts with the Stock ECU. I replaced the Battery with an Autocraft Titanium, susposed to put out 620 Amps at 0 degrees F. Just wondering if other people are having the same problems. There isn't much that can be done on my end to change any settings.

Phil did you get a chance to send out an email on this, maybe I missed it? Well I am stuck until something else changes, I thought it would just be the battery, but I spent the 20 minutes this morning installing a band new WARM battery to no effect. She starts to turn over and then kinda dies, and even with the fresh battery and everything in the vehicle off it sounds like she isn't getting enough juice?!??!?!?!

Refrain from reminding to just replace it with my stock ECU, I didn't pay 1600 bucks + 600 for Dyno to have to replace the Hydra everytime the weather gets a little chilly, even at like 20-30 degrees it has a problem some mornings.

Oh yeah, the car will only start when its being jumped

Sorry but I don't even know who you are. PLEASE SEND AND EMAIL or at least post your name!

But with that said I went to go test the cold start this moring and as you stated it would try to start but wouldn't stay running. It's the coldest it's been here at about 0 degrees F so I figured it would be good to do some testing.

I made some changes to the cranking enrichement and it started right up but there have been so many other changes over the last 2 months you'll need all the updates. Email me with your current map and I'll make all the changes for you.

Thanks,
Phil

Phil,

Any chances of just posting the compensation tables for us?? I think it would be easier to have some way to post global map changes to all of your users without having to personally make every change.

If I could screen capture the entire settings then that would be easier but his biggest problem that he started with a Hydra base map and not an Element base map.

Your issue are a little different so i'm still testing different settings on the STI. This morining was the coldest i've tested at -20C coolant and I was able to get it started in the normal three seconds which is good since my stock Legacy took just as long. LOL!

Since I'm still testing I won't post or email out changes yet but since the starting issues are isolated to only a couple of people I haven't felt the urgency to rush out new setting while I'm still testing them.

Thanks,
Phil

My car definitely won't start. And it was parked on the street (it snowed 4-6 inches last night so we had to move it) so I was pretty screwed. It's been really really cold here (like -22) and my car tries to start and then stumbles and dies. I pretty much wore out my battery trying to start it over the past few days, so I think I have to reload the map and re-charge the battery to get it started again. It's warmed up to around 14 so I'm going to try it over the next few days. Phil, I'll e-mail you in just a few about this, I thought it may have been my gas freezing or something.

I made the cold start changes to your map. Let me know how it works. Just make sure to let the fuel pump prime fully before you start the car.

Like I stated above this is the coldest I've been able to test so far and after the adjustments the car started right up.

I'll probably wait another few hours before I test them again but so far so good. Once I get feedback from everyone I'll make these changes permanent.

Thanks,
Phil

Just to give some of you update with extreme cold start issues. So far I'm at 120% cranking enrichement at -20 and 88% at -10.

I'll continue testing but that was most likely the last cold start for the evening.

Phil
