Well, if you get your dealer to fix it, they'll probably charge around $90/hr for labor, plus parts. I'd guess 200 would cover it.

Since it sounds like you're already in a bit over your head, you might not want to complicate your situation with fraud. ;)
Rather than going to the dealer to start with, I'd ask around and try to find an independent (i.e. cheaper than dealer) Subaru-specialist (or at least Japanese-car-specialist) and pay him for an hour of labor (probably around $60-70) to reinstall the stock wires and diagnose what the problem is. Of course, explain to him first what you did (at least which areas under the hood/inside you worked on) to give him a clue where to start.

That way, you should be able to get a good idea of what's going on from an independent person, and maybe even get it fixed if it's pretty straightforward.

Another option if you can write down exactly what you did and what the symptoms were is to try posting in the "Electrical and Lighting" forum. You'll need to provide lots of details to have a chance of figuring things out that way, but it is free...

I second the going to an independent subaru mechanic.

Say no dealer-frauding.
