i was driving on the highway on a cold night it was about in the 40's my girlfriend tells me to go faster cuz she wants to go home. i step on it and im just about to hit 120 when the car feels like it hit a wall. Then the cruise light and the cel came on. the cruise light was blinking but not the cel. i kept driving and stopped at a gas station. i noticed that underneath the dash near the clutch a green connector or something was loose. i connected it to another plug that was hanging there. it fix perfect so i thought that it went there. when i started the car back up. the cel started to blink.
now im consider cuz ive been hearing that a blinking cel is not good. so i was wondering was me connecting that green plug near the clutch the reason for the blinking cel (hopefully) or could there be a major problem here.
this is my daily driver and i dont want to be driving it with that blinking cel if theres a major problem.
again the blinking cel did not come on untill i connceted that green thing.
im running all catless. 05 STi
anyfeedback would be great

those plugs were supposed to be left unplugged.....as for the other part, sounds like u hit fuel cut as a result of boost creep....

yeah, disconnect the green plugs. and you most definately hit fuel cut if you're catless and no EM. just chill with the 5th gear WOT. besides, people on this forum will flame your ass for doing a buck 20 on the highway anyway. not that i can talk cause i fall victim to that as well. there's no real fixing the boost creep with the vf39 unless you port it, and even then, people still have problems. just my .02 cents. good luck with it.
p.s. do you have a boost gauge? if not, get one.

It's definitely not boost creep but it is creep boost!
Yeah it is boost creep. What rpm did it happen at?

No cats+No engine management=boost creep. You'll pull a code in the future...I see a P0244. It's the typical boost creep code. Get some engine management, and disconnect the green connectors if you haven't already.

To reset the ECU, you can disconnect the battery, and step on the brake pedal for XX seconds. When you reconnect the battery, the christmas lights should be gone.
TO THOSE WHO KNOW: Does resetting the ECU actually clear the codes, or does it just make the CEL/blinking cruise go away?
Don't sweat it, and yeah, chill on the 5th/6th gear WOT. :)

It clears the code, and about 3-5 seconds of stepping on the pedal will bleed any capacitive charge out of the system.
