It's not all that tough. But find some kind of tool to remove the front O2 sensor. This is the hardest part. Subaru makes a tool for it. It's probably worth buying, as it's a huge pain to work around that O2 sensor. I didn't do that. I wish I had. There's no room to get an O2 sensor socket and ratchet onto it. Vice grips + o2 sensor socket *might* work, but we didn't have a socket on hand. We ended up cutting the heat shield off, which I was exceptionally nervous about.

After that, it's all pretty straightforward, unless you have frozen / factory cross-threaded bolts like I did. Then it can be a huge pain.

If you pull the front right tire you'll see part of the plastic wheelwell liner is attached seperately near the lower front of the well. Removing that exposes the backside of the O2 sensor. 22mm O2 wrenches can be purchased at autoparts stores.

I dogged up my heat shield too... then I found that flap. It doesn't make it easy... just easier.

Coat all the nuts with PB Blaster a few times before trying to remove them.

Hey guys, I'm getting my headers here in about 2 weeks and also need some instructions for the install, as I don't want to pay $150+ for the labor. I have done a search on the forums and cannot find any information on what is involved in the install. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
