I'm Still hoping the Next Subaru will be a 6 wheeled 5th wheel (7th wheel) Baja extended bed. With a 15,000 lbs load limit and plush seating. Winch on front and 8 to 12 inches, adjustable air ride, leveling. 400 BHP would fit it nice maybe even a low range for those hills.
It might end up like a Homer Mobile. Either that or it would capture the RV crowd and propel Subaru into places unknown.
6WD and maybe 6WS.
Not a Dually either, 3 axels 6 wheels. Might even need 2 spares.
Hey it would be different.
The other thing I was thinking is compared to the width of a city bus a Subaru is narrow/tiny. Now if you made a Subaru that was the width of a city bus you could probably sit 3 across the front and 4 across the back seat. Driver in the middle. You would have Huge trunk space and could probably fit a couple beds back there width wise. Either have a single H6 or even 2 of them side by side.
Now City buses drive all over the place and as such a Subaru like this would be able to go almost anywhere in the city. Parking might be tight but either sliding doors or Gull wing type, with a t roof type beam making it easy to get to the drivers seat would be neat. Cameras and LCD panels for seeing down the sides and behind. It would have a much shorter length and wheelbase than a bus but might have trouble parking. Although without doors that swing out it shouldn't be too bad, plus nobody would box you in.
