VF30/STi Injector/Walbro Kits

RS -> WRX/STi Conversions - 04/05 WRX drivetrain (engine, trans and rear diff as well as the driveshaft) and the entire dash starting at $6500 which includes parts and labor for a WRX swap and approx. $13,000 for an STi swap. The STi swap is considerably more because it includes the brakes, suspension, etc. etc. All parts are from salvage cars with less than 30K miles. We can source extra low miles cars, although the price might be a little higher.

Rough estimates on the STi swap are about 3 weeks. I'm guessing that even if you didnt want the brakes/suspension it would still take about the same amount of time since majority of the swap is all the wiring.

There is a core charge and i believe and it will be returned to you when they recieve your rack... As far as the labor process I would bet the sway bar done at the same time as the rack cause it's all under there anyways... It's not that hard to change it out but it is time consuming and messy (steering fluid) It's a great buy I would defenitly recommend it... I wish subaru made the steering racks like that already... I'm sure david or steve will be able to chime in on this with more info.

Hey,

Basically how it would work is you would pay $1875 up front if you don't have an extra rack to send us. We send a rack out and get it "quickened" and ship it to you. After you recieve it we will need your stock rack. Once recieving your stock rack we will refund you the $675. Give us a call if you have anymore questions

I am on the east coast and it is not cost effective to have my car shipped out to you guys. I plan on swapping the whole hvac system as well. How involved is this? I have an '01 RS coupe with a jdm wrx motor being swapped in. Any cutting or splicing involved?

Your gonna provide the parts??? Do you only want the engine or interior plus engine. Trust me, unless you provide a salvaged car that you want to swap with, buying the parts individualy will get to be more than what your plannin on. The litle gasket/wiring/bushings/washers... They all add up. If you want a WRX swap, just get a salvaged car through Steve. If I can recall correctly, the swap is around 5000-6000 dollars depending on how new you want the salvaged car to be. Call steve for more details, he's usually in at arround 8-12 at night.

Thanks for the heads up. My friend is planning on doing a JDM sti swap in his WRX, and he willing to sell me his engine/tranny/axles for a CHEAP price. So my question is, how much is labor going to cost (just engine/tranny/axles, no interior) to put his parts (already out of the car) into my 00 RS. His parts is already out of his car, I just need to put it in my car and take my original motor out.

Labor is $2500. Remember, if your friend is doing a JDM STi swap he will most likely be keeping the wiring harness. This is the crucial part of the swap and is pretty expensive if its bought new.

aerosim, do you have a shifter linkage i could use in my 93 L front wheel drive? it shifts fine, but has a very sloppy shifter, ie, even when you put it in gear, the shifter is moving all over the place. if you don't have one, do you know where i could locate one?

Gauges include: Boost , Exhaust Temp , Oil Temp.

Actually found out there are two sensors missing. - Exhaust Temp & Oil Temp.

Oil temp sensor went bye-bye w/the block it was attached to. [Spun bearing]

Exhaust temp sensor is MIA. I think I know where it is... but will need to dig around the shop.

Steve stated the costs to order the sensors may be pretty steep...
Ordering new gauges is always an option.... but y'know... $

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I've been looking for the probes but I can't find them anywhere. I know that one was missing when I took the gauges out of the car, but the other one (EGT) was there but missing the bung. Either way, I think the probes are going to be expensive. The Defi probes are almost as much as the gauges themselves.

would you guys mind quoting me the cost to install my defi BF gauges: oil temp, boost, and either exhaust temp or oil pressure (havent bought the last gauge yet). thanks!

$250 for install with EGT and $200 for install with Oil Pressure instead of EGT. You'll need a sandwich adapter as well if you want Oil Pressure and Oil Temp. There are a few spots to tap for Oil Press/Temp but most aren't very accessible with the engine in the car.

Just curious, can you guys do the whole WRX/STi swap into an older impreza, like say a 1993 Impreza? Not necessarily the interior, but at least the entire drivetrain?

Yes. Actually, the dash won't fit unless you upgrade the door panels to the later RS style door panels. It's still around the same price as the swap with the dash. You save on parts and pay in labor ... way more soldering.

how long is the install deal good for, on the VF34, inj, fuel pump?

There's one VF34 left at $1700 installed. After that, the price is going up because IHI is raising their prices significantly. This is a US warrantied turbo (not grey market). I was told that the VF22's are going up $300 so I'd expect that the VF34's will go up a similar amount.

Down time is 6 hours for the install. If you want a tune along with it, we have an arrangement with Simon Lines from Prodrive.

i just left you guys a message... i've got a 91 legacy wagon, and i'm planning on putting a jdm ej22t w/ ecu and a hydraulic tranny (like the wrx). can you give me an idea on the labor costs?

I need more details to give you a quote. Is the engine built? Is the wiring with the ECU compatible? What parts do you have and what will you need? If it's anything like the WRX swaps that we do where nearly everything is bolt-in except for the wiring, then labor runs about $2500. If there's some fabrication involved, then it'll be more. If there are parts missing or needed, more still.

How much for front camber/caster plate installation?

I think that answers just about all of the questions. No, "DarkSands" doesn't work for me and yes, I do need someone to work for me. I think I might have that sorted out for now. I'm trying to get a bigger shop and at least one other mechanic soon. Hopefully very soon.

no problem steve. i figured you're busy. actually the ej22t motor fell through. but i've got a jdm ej20t complete w/ turbo, IC, ecu, and attached 5 speed tranny. what other stuff do you need to do a swap? how much would labor run on something like this?

if i remember correctly, you quoted me 6500 to do a usdm wrx drivetrain swap into my legacy a couple of months ago (that included the motor/tranny/axles/diff/brakes/susp)...

the reason i'm asking for just the motor and tranny only instead of the full swap is because i've got a good deal on it... would it be better to get a usdm wrx motor/tranny? let me know please so i can decide how to spend my money...

if i were to source my own turbo and up pipe, what is the price on fuel pump and injectors? and everything else installed [up pipe, turbo, pump, injectors ]? also ... i was looking into doing a prodrive tune.
