I bought a pair of Borla headers for my 97legacy 2.5gt, The existing mainfold is not the same as the aftermarket header i bought. It looks like they re-route the exhaust towards the passanger side of the car when the existing one bends toward the driverside where it connects into the Cat. Would any one know if the manifold from Borla Has to be used with there Cat-back exhaust System?

No it doesnt. There are 2 types of headers for both subaru and borla: single port and dual port.

Is there anything i can do to use these headers for my car. I'm about to replace the head gasket in my car and the engine will be out for a little whille. Does the header even work with any subaru aftermarket exhausts? This is a pain does anyone have any info on exhaust systems for a 97 legacy 2.5gt (ej25D)?

I'm not quite sure what your issue is. The Borlas don't look like the stock manifold, thus the reason in even getting them. They are designed differently, but fit the stock location. They bolt up to the heads and then at the stock cat location.

Unless you bought the wrong Borlas, they will fit fine. If the Borla headers have two tubes on each side, then you are fine and they will fit if the rest of your exhaust is stock. If there has been some sort of funky custom work done on/around the cats then there may be issues.

Yeah, you might have the wrong model. I'd contact whomever you purchased it from and verify that it's meant for your car.
