View Full Version : Perrin Big MAF with UTEC??? Project Rex STi 01-30-2005, 06:00 PM Just wondering what everyones experiences were with this??? I have a 04 STI. I already have the UTEC and am planning to replace my MAF tube soon. I was thinking Perrin modified STi injectors and the big MAF tube. I guess i should have bought a Hydra from the beginning, but oh well. How possible is this to get tuned right on an STi UTEC? Thanx. I was going to buy a hydra but some guy said it sucks, and its nothing but problems form the day he got it, then he said he sent it back and bought a UTEC. whats your opinion on this issue blinguskahn 01-31-2005, 03:54 AM Mine is tuned with the UTEC and BigMAF as well as Perrin Modded Injectors. The UTEC allows you to scale the MAF sensor accordingly. Helpful hint: The perrin BigMAF is 40% larger than the stock but you will only want to scale it 22%. the PDX guys did extensive testing along with Phil from Element Tuning regarding this particular subject. % larger of Stock MAF size does not equal % of MAF scale. You hijack every thread in site with questions that can be answered with a search. If you really don't want to search for things like ''what is a MAF'' then start your own thread in the proper forum please. Good luck with everything, pm me if you need some help. mick_the_ginge 01-31-2005, 12:44 PM Only go to a BigMAF if you are going to get a turbo that is going to overflow the stock MAF tube and sensor. If you do then 550 stock size and 650 UTEC injector size will work to get you started. |
