They fit great. No rubbing on stock suspension, even while autocrossing. A friend also has some on a lowered wagon and does not rub at autocrosses either.
It is one of the best ways to put 225s on a wagon and not have to worry about rubbing.

Buy some now, only the 04 fit. The 05+ have the wrong bolt pattern.

They are 17x7.5" 5x100 +53mm.

Its that perfect +53mm offset that centers that 225 perfectly in the narrower wagon wheelwells. But for that offset you would likely get rubbing either inside or at the lip with 225s.

I recently purchased a set of used silvers, and they arrived today. I wish I could tell you if they rub or not, but that'll have to wait until spring comes.

However it is my understanding that they have enough offset to go with the stock suspension, even for wagons. If you must get 225 for your wagon, STi's will be the best chance you will get since I hardly ever see wheels with that high of an offset.

I myself will probably get 215 though, it's cheaper, lighter, and slightly smaller, so it's better for my wallet and (very slightly) better for acceleration.

The bottom line is, IMO used sets of STi BBS's are the best bang for the buck in the market. You cannot possibly get rims of this quality for that kind of money, even used. Get them while they are still over-supplied. (before 04's are all gone)

Yep thats what I am trying to do.

They shouldn't rub. I have seem many examples, one in person, and there were no problems. At most you will have to roll the fenders a bit, but that probably will not be necessary.

Roll Fenders??

Yes. That is where you bend the inner rim of the rear fenders up to make more room for the tire. Seach for roll fender and you should find a lot of info on it.

They look like a PITA to clean, but I wouldn't mind getting a set myself. When you say they're over-supplied, do you mean readily available? I can't seem to find very many for sale here on NASIOC, where are good places to look?

Well, they are certainly not as common as say, Rota's, but compared to any other wheels of that caliber, (BBS, Volks) they are much common. I mean, obviously every STi owner has or had a set, right?

Check out eBay, it seems like it's gotten a little slow lately, but in December and early January there were always 2~4 set on sale at a given time.

They fit, I have seen it many times. And yes, they are really tough to clean because of all of the ridges in the spokes.

I like to use White diamond polish, it really cleans the wheels off nicer than anyhting else I have found but it is very time consuming.

I keep seeing people posting 48 offset and then others post 53? I have been looking on Ebay too. They even say OEM 04 STI?

All good stuff guys and those are All Hot pics. At first I did not want GOLD but either will be fine for me now. My car is WRB.

Cheers,

Chuck

What exaxtly is Offset? :( :D

Apparently, most of those STi owners are happy to keep their stockers (understandably so). :(

I figure my RE92s will be worn out by summer, so that gives me some time to hopefully score on a nice set locally. I'll keep looking, thanks.

They look like a PITA to clean, but I wouldn't mind getting a set myself. Yes they are. The inner edge is very flat and and doesn't angle at all. Brake dust collects there.
The easiset rims to clean are the new Legacy GT, they have no lip on them...
These are a good alternative to STi wheels. 17X7.0 with a 55 offset. About 18 lbs and look very nice. I have both

They say ET53 on them. That's the offset. Rotas are 48's so they stick out more and don't fit as well on wagons.

As for where to find a set, search on the local or regional forums.

I bought a set (silver) this month and at the time there was a second set (gold) for sale the Mid-Atlantic.

If you're just looking for the tires, check the TriState, or New England forums as these guys like to dump the stock tires for all seasons, and this still works even with the 05 STi's.
