I really like these wheels - but know that they are heavy. For people that own them...do you feel like the rims slow you down? Or do you smile and say to yourself, "I'm glad I'm rolling on a really stong wheel" when you nail a pothole?

Thanks -

I like mine. I swap them with my 16" stockers seasonally. Sometimes it feels like they are slower, other times when I switch I don't feel any difference. I suppose if you auto-x or drag the weight might show itself.

Yes they are strong. I bubbled a sidewall without any wheel damage :)

If you run them with 215/45-17 tires, you will gain a gearing advantage that results in about 2% more effective torque at the wheels compared to 205/55-16 or 225/45-17 tires.

The lower gearing will help your acceleration more than an extra 4 lbs. per wheel (or whatever it is) will hinder it. And I doubt you'll notice the extra weight during braking or cornering. If you like them, don't let the weight issue stop you from getting them.

Summary: Strong wheel is good. More power is good. Combination is very good.

I like the P7's and have had them since 2001. I have travelled some bad roads with them. The stockers have ws50 blizzacks. In strait line performance I don't notice a difference with utec txs stage 3, 95 octane. The weather and gas make a much larger difference. These comments are only for a straight line, since the Blizzacks don't have similar cornering. P7's with max perf summer tires are great in the twisties even where there are lousy roads. I like the idea of having a strong wheel. I also like the 225 argument above. I may give it a shot in the future.

Love them. It is comforting to know that the P7 wheels should/will never give you any problems. That knowledge in itself will make you quicker.
