View Full Version : Gauge Pod
AK SloPok 02-03-2005, 02:31 AM I want a cool, yet very clean way to mount a 52mm gauge to my steering column. This would replace my current Factory boost gauge with a different one. I've found several 3 gauge, pillar, and dual mounts but I just want one. With the pod preferably in carbon or all black, no chrome. Who's got the 411????

Konvict 02-03-2005, 02:45 AM i have the autometer carbon fiber gauge cup. It's not too bad.
Need Money 02-03-2005, 04:15 AM Hey Chad, sorry I haven't kept you updated man. Been busy as heck. Meant to talk to ya at the meet but you didn't go to Lone Star. I have the autometer boost guage w/cup(cup is black) sitting on my desk right here. Comes with everything!!!!!! $30 for the boost guage and $10 for the cup. To complete your set. I'll try and grab that oil pressure sender for you too.

MGAMAN 02-03-2005, 08:21 AM I use to use a Trust (Greddy) 60mm gauge mount, it was just a easy to mount flat base with a stainless steel metal ring that allowed tilt and other adjustments. Shortfuse, AK_2002_WRX, and a couple others know what it looks like, very clean IMO, but im not sure if they make it smaller than 60mm

AK SloPok 02-03-2005, 01:50 PM Michael, give me a call on the gauge/sender I am totally down with that. I am not sure they will end up going in my car but I certainly want to complete the Autometer setup. And put get the sender for the oil pressure gauge.
Thanks for the input guys. I have blacked out everything in the interior of my car, even my new head unit (on order) is black, so I want to keep it dark. I know there are some products out there for one gauge on the steering that will work for a 52mm I just have not found one yet.
I remember seeing a replacement column top with a gauge pod built into it but I cant remember who the vendor is. I would like to take a look at what someone has though, just to get an idea of what the appearance is.
Thanks,
Chad

You're probably thinking of Konvict's post:
i have the autometer carbon fiber gauge cup. It's not too bad.
MGAMAN 02-03-2005, 04:58 PM Yeah, mine was just black steel and stainless steel, no c/f no frills, pure JDM functionality. And it was TRUST not some american brand.

thats the one :) aww i miss it, its so clean.
shortfuseWRX 02-03-2005, 08:44 PM hahah i still have it........chad if you want something that will allow you to mount two 52mm guages next to the steering column, autometer makes a replacement bezel for the gauge hood on your car. fits two 52mm or you can shave it to make it fit 60mm, right chris? very clean if you ask me you can also find them somewhere in CF.

SparkysJDMSpeedWagon 02-04-2005, 02:36 AM ZeroSports makes a pod that houses 3 60mm guages and allows you to keep your clock:

MGAMAN 02-04-2005, 10:28 PM i think its ugly how it sits up like its just double sided taped on, but other than that its freaking sweat

Need Money 02-06-2005, 09:15 AM I just figured that my aftermarket deck has a clock integrated in it and that I wouldn't miss it. Sure the stock clock is pretty nice an all but it takes up quite a bit of space. You can probably take the actual clock out and put it somewhere else like your ashtray.
