I recently have had some problems with my stock motor so I am looking to do a swap out to a version 7 long block. I already have a utec but don't know if it is possible for me to tune the JDM engine with it. I am really new to the swap world and don't really know what kind of EM can be used for the Ver.7. The car is a daily driver/ road race car. It needs to be dependable and I live in pennsylvania so the EM has to be tunable by someone on the east coast or by myself. Any help will be greatly apprciated.

and i'm going to add onto his question. sorry if i end up stealing the thread. but assuming he/me us the V7 ecu, so we can use the AVC, what units (EM) can be used with the V7 ecu.

and then i guess you could go the other way as well, USDM W ecu, and not get AVC, would utec and hyrda and other still work? Thanks much.

Both of you please search, this has been covered. Bottom line...if your utec is rev6b or higher you can use it on the jdm ecu. You don't ''have'' to get a jdm utec, but can if you prefer.

v7 engine EM that supports AVC'S' are the hydra, utec, reflash or more expensive units. Supposedly link has an AVCS version available now actually.

This is very rough, but please do a search there are a few very comprehensive threads with all the answers to your questions.
