I don't post here much mainly because All i do is Read. (searched every COBB + accessport Thread on NASIOC as well as COBB FAQ)
but I'm seconds away from ordering Stg 1. AP
*I don't want problems....I want a tad bit more power just to not be a "stock STi".I was originally gonna leave the motor alone just cuz I'm new to Turbo's so no fiddling= No problems (sometimes)MY STi is Perfect - the 6th gear grind so I obviously don't want to ruin it.
-----------------
It sounds like exactly what I want mainly because I don't want Boost Creep,I hate Loud exhausts and Don't want problems!I'm happy w/ the power now (w/ my Power enterprises intake) and yeah, yeah we all say that....but is this AP Stg 1 really that simple & add a little "kick"?
BTW: I'm not close to any AWD dyno's (N.Carolina) as well as don't really want to spend $1000+ dyno tune for a pretty much Stock car for ECUTEK etc.
1: if I do get the Stg 1 and I NEED more do i have to sell the stg 1 or just load the Stag2 map in?
I have searched but not too many STi specific Cobb threads...mainly WRX.

With any Ap you don't really sell a stage
If you want STG 1 which is retuned stock STi you load/reflash base map stg 1
If later you want to upgrade exhaust downpipe/catback then you load/flash stg 2
Lets say you take off downpipe/catback you would just reflash/load stg 1 again
Simple as that
P.S. The AP's are used the same no matter what car WRX or STi.

Get Accessport. You won't regret it. Stage 1 will be a big improvement over stock in terms of smooth power delivery (at least, it was on my WRX). And from what I hear, you won't have any reliability issues, because it's a pretty conservative/safe mod. All in all, Stage 1 is a much better drive than stock.
AP is essentially plug and play/realtime. So, if you want to change from stage1 to stage2 maps, all you do is hit a button. However, you should know that Stage 2 also requires a full Turbo-back exhaust system. You could run the stage 2 map, but won't get any benefit because your stock exhaust is physically limiting the power that your engine can make.

Like I've said..I've had mine since they first came out(for the STi) with no problems. Don't be discouraged by some of the posts. There will always be people who will never be satisfied with AP unless every miniscule aspect of their performance world is met(OMG!! I Delta-dashed a .3 boost spike!!) but for the rest of us..the AP fits the bill.
Be warned..if you get it you'll be itching to get stage 2 A.S.A.P.

That's the truth:) I got the Cobb stage 2 setup. I am very happy with it. Respectable gains. Going from stock to stage 1 is nice. Going stage 1 to stage 2 is :D , to say the least.

If you get the AP I would lose the intake...

In a sense, SilverSurfer's right. You should lose an intake (per Cobb's advice). But I got an APS CAI, and I have zero problems with boost creep or power. YMMV. Get the AP if you want, I sincerely doubt you'll regret it.

AP is a good product. I had it before buying all my turbo upgrade stuff.
If you have good gas in your area and you stay modded according to the specs on their maps you will be very, very pleased! If/when you run Stg II it turns your STi into a torque fiend.

I'll sell you my AP...
Wasn't happy with it at all...I'm gonna just do a custom tune like I originally wanted.
