It occurs to me that if I'm going to be replacing the head gaskets, I have to pull at least the downpipes. Not sure of the exact specs of this exhaust, but I know I have the stock system.

I read on another post that the stock suspension can't really handle much more than the power of a stock motor with new exhaust and maybe new prom?

There's nothing wrong with the exhaust, but if I'm going to be yanking pieces I might as well put some back that give me a few more ponies.

Apparently the 99 Foresters got skirt-less pistons, so I may be headed for a "bottom end" (center? side?) rebuild soon. Lots of non-valve type slapping/ticking going on until fully warmed up.

I am in the middle of a Mercedes 300SD engine swap, I've got the tools to pull the engine and work on it if I have to. I was hoping to make it another ~50k before the rebuild.
