Ok, so I went to get my STI transmission mount installed on my '02 WRX. They agreed to do at first, but then the service manager called me and said that they couldn'y do it because it was a performance part. It's such bull**** because they have to replace it anyway, the old one cracked. What I'm more pissed off about is that they sell it at this dealership but they can't install it and can't tell me where to get it installed, what do I do????

Install it yourself - it is very easy to do - even on jackstands or ramps.

There presumably are mechanics other than Subaru dealers in CA -- you might try asking around in your regional forum, or even the yellow pages. Up here in Seattle we have at least two independent Subaru-only mechanics' shops that I've seen just by driving around.
