So I installed my modded injectors and Hydra today, and now i'm having a software problem...

When running 2.14 version i can connect and upload from the ECU but when the upload screen clears and I pick "maps" it just sits there and does not go to the map screen. The software is not hanging or "not respondig", I can close the program with no problems.. and even hit the upload again and it works....

When running the old 2.11 version i can connect and upload from the ECU and when the screen clears and I hit "maps" is says that the software version is wrong, but it does load the map and shows the data..

Has anyone had this problem with the 2.14 version??

Can I use the 2.11 version to setup the TPS and such.. download back to the ECU and get my car running??

Did the min hardware requirements change from 2.11 to 2.14??

My current tuning laptop is a 133Mhz with 80megs of RAM... I have a newer laptop that I can use, but I do not have the slow speed USB to serial adapter.. and now I have no car to get one..

I put in a call to Phil and I'm sure he will call back today when he gets a chance, just wondering if anyone on the boards has had this problem.

Thanks,
Dave

you cant mix different software w/ different boxes, it throws off the values for the coil packs. ive had some of the same problems your having man, i hope you get em worked out. i know how frustrating that it can be not being to be able to drive your car at all.

Well.. I loaded the 2.14K version onto my new laptop and i can click on "maps" and it brings up the right screen.. But i do not have the USB to slow speed serial to connect my newer laptop to the ECU.. And being new to the area have no new friends around to even give me a lift to best buy or any computer store...

This is one of those times where I wish I still lived right next to the city bus stop....

You cannot use 2.14 if your Hydra has not been reflashed to accept the new software but I think you're saying you've had that done.

Also the new software requires much more processing power than 2.12. Your old laptop is going to be tiresome with the new software.

Just got off of the phone with Phil.. Looks like my old laptop is good for nothing now (except a target :D )....

Phil gave me the green light to go ahead and start it with the default TPS calibrations and such.. She fired right up... Idle bounces a little (from 500 to 1k and back).. and when I push in the clutch while comming to a stop the car dies... So I have to do some fine tuning, but at least she can get me to the computer store for the USB to slow speed serial adapter...

So I will get the adapter then increase the "Vehical Moving Steps" a little, and possibly lower the "Proportional" a little.

Thanks for the Saturday service Phil, not many vendors can be contacted on the weekends.... Top notch!!

Dave,

That's most likely becuase the TPS is set too low so the idle isn't kicking in. Get the USB and set the TPS as soon as you can.

Thanks and have fun

Ok, I will need to calibrate and install my wideband 02 as well, looks like I know what I'm doing before the Super Bowl..

GO PATS!!
