Hey guys,
I know a couple of guys have done it and amist4u is one from ktr performance that have used external wastegate with turboxs downpipe. I am using the gt spec upipe and headers but need to know where on the uppipe to mount the wastegate flange, and the measurements of the atmosphere dump tube. Thanks for all the help!!!!!

Good luck. Big Turkey did it on his WRX with a green. It wasn't pretty, and it was quite tight. I have SZ in my STi and TXS TBE, but I've decided to say goodbye to my TBE for something without a bell mouth so I would have more room for the external wastegate and be able to plumb it to the downpipe. I'll have pics within the next two weeks.

Hvae someone do it for you. Its not easy. Especially getting it to clear, the block, the firewall, the shock tower and everything else under the hood.

man i feel sorry for you. I just went down that same road, and the only perfect solution was to purchase a new externally gated up-pipe from ultimate-racing.com for about $350, then an hks downpipe $175, txs catbacks don't fit hks dp's, so you gotta buy a new catback $500+. imo, that would be the perfect setup without running into fabrication. I ended up going with a 20g internally gated, keeping my current txs setup, modding the injectors, fp, bc, and spent about $2000 less. Please let us know what you end up doing, and if it was successful.

its a tight fit if you have the wastegate routed to the bottom of the car no matter what downpipe you have. I had dan @ godspeed custom fab one for my 3-bolt gtspec v2 uppipe and it came out awesome!
like carguyx said, just get someone to do it for you
