I recently put my motor back together after recieving my Crawford S3L shortblock . I putting the timing belt on and lined all of the timing marks up . And once that was all said and done I decided to tighten the cam gears since the belt was now on and secure . I did not have the proper cam gear wrenches because I had to give them back to the Subaru dealership that I had borowed them from . So I used an impact gun on the lowest setting . While tightening the intake cam gears on both sides (AVCS Gears) as they got tight the inside portion of the gears moved about 1/8" with the bolts as they were tightening . This kind of scared me so I stopped there . I know that due to the AVCS this middle section is suposed to move as it did but it did not spring back ! I dont know if I broke something or if this is normal ? Will the AVCS still work properly ? And how will I know if something is wrong ? Any help would be great . Thanx for your time in advance . Dave
