Would ther be a big difference between sunoco 94 and 104 fuel as far as a more aggresive tune, or would it be better to run leaded race fuel. I will be running a gt35r with a hydra.

The leaded fuel will have better exhaust valve cooling than any of the no-lead fuels. Wich should help stop hot spots and det. If your car is driven daily I would get it tuned on both C16 and pump gas.

how do you get sunoco to roll up at your house w/ a 55 gallon drum? i priced out vp c-16 its 480+ bucks plus shipping! so your looking at ~600/55 gallons of c16. and every time i check out racegas.com belive or not, gives me no info.

i thought the leaded fuel would kill the O2 sensor?

It will eventually.

I am going to make some asumitions here for a sec.

Lets say the O2 sensor is designed to last 100k miles in regular service.
Lets also assume that the leaded gas will cut that life by 50%.
That is still 50k miles. I can handle an O2 sensor every 50K miles. :)
IMO the actual % is less than that but still worst case is an O2 sensor every 50k miles or so.

I used at least 1 o2 sensor per year in my TT/A and I didnt drive it that much. I only ran race gas at the track and never (rarely) on the street. That was with 108 octane leaded too iirc.

I have put 2 or 3 sensors in it within 20k miles

No idea how the suby sensors will hold up tho.

I talked to a manufacturer that uses Subie motors in airplanes and he has never had an O2 failure running avgas.
I will be using torco leaded in my car. I have all ready run 4 tanks worth and I have no problems yet.

Anyone know how much the replacement sensors are?

FWIW I have about 34,000 miles on my o2 sensor and i regularly run leaded gas. So far no major problems other that a couple of days ago car took a couple of cranks to start up.

Bottom Line = Leaded fuel will severly reduce the knock @ higher boost levels.

Plus its smells sooooo good!

$160 for the rear O2 sensor

I paid ~154 from Subaru for my front o2 sensor. So ya, this is accurate.

The leaded torco has "that" smell. :)

What if I ran a mix of 4 gallons 110 leaded to 11 gallons unleaded. Would there be any issues with this. I would think with running this type of mix it would reduce the failure of the o2's and cat as opposed to running straight leaded.

Yes, there would be. You would have the same issues show up(it's not like there is any less leaded gas simply b/c you mix with unleaded) but it might take them a little longer to manifest themselves.

dude...i've been stupid enough to smell and get a wiff of unleaded race gas...but come on dude don't be sniffin leaded gas?! lead = poison ....you should try to stick your hand in gallon of mercury while you smelling the leaded gas and see how cool it feels?!

I contacted Sunoco yesterday and was told that they will soon eliminate 94 octane fuel. :(
