i have been looking to swap my RS engine for a wrx. i saw that JDM engines have a lot more horsepower. would i be able to swap this in for about the same amount of work that is involed as swaping into a USDM?

DuoMaxwell 02-21-2005, 03:54 PM There is a little more work involved with the JDM swap. There are several threads damn near a complete walk through on how to do it if you search around a tad bit. supermarkus 02-21-2005, 04:01 PM JDM engines also get the benefit of better gas in Japan and tuning to take advantage of that gas, that's just a few of many reasons why their output is rated higher. There is quite a bit of wiring harness work if you're looking to swap an STi engine in there, but like Duo was saying, there are lots of walk throughs and how-tos on swapping. Siper2 02-21-2005, 07:25 PM This thread also has the potential of becoming a very useful knowledge platform, or a huge flame war. :D The JDM vs. USDM argument is a raging one, sometimes. The EJ20 vs. EJ25 battle ensues. DuoMaxwell 02-22-2005, 02:40 AM What are you talking about the most I have seen out of an EJ20 was roughly 475awhp. I know you can get alot more out of the EJ25 but I think with just bolt ons certain JDM engines have the advantage!!!! But back to the discussion at hand lets turn this thread into all the info we have then lets make a Nasioc Conversion book and sell it!!! |
