Help... I have blown my stock 2.5 liter engine due to over-towing. I have seen a 2.0 liter turbo engine for sale (EJ2.0T) and would like to know if it is possible to replace the stock engine with the turbo. Also, is there anyone near the Chicago area who is capable and willing to do the conversion.. Oh yes, what is involved? Thanks.

Wrong forum. :)

I'd try the Subaru Conversions forum, the Forced Induction forums, or the Midwest/regional area.

Short answer: yes it'll work. Forester's basically an Impreza, and any Impreza engine is interchangeable. Complicated, but VERY well-documented. Rest easy, I say.

sounds like you need a truck not a turbo engine. I wouldnt tow with a 2.0l turbo, just doesnt make sense. What blew on your stock engine?

The towing was a one time thing. It is not planned for future towing, I really just want to fix with a higher HP engine rather than just junking it. Thank-you.

It is possible, but you need a lot more than just the engine.

Wiring harnesses, ECU, Fuel pump controller, Front crossmember, Exhaust, Etc...

And if you are looking to pay someone to do it expect to pay at least $8 in parts and labor.
