I'd really like to strap a turbo onto my MY98 2.5RS. I was wondering if anyone had experience with aftermarket turbo kits:
Would I be better off buying everything I needed seperately or should I go with a kit?
What brands should I look for?
what else should I look into getting along with the turbo?

I hate Arizona, but the USAF stuck me there so I didn't have much choice in the matter.

since you're relatively close to JC Sports, just drive there. www.jcsportsinc.com is where you'll find more info.

There's someone right here in AZ. Check out Forced Air Technologies in Prescott. Website can be found under links. They turboed my car and a bunch of other AZ Subaru's. The owner's name is Robert 928-632-1251

Well you might give him a call and see what's included - might be suprised. He'll also give you advice for free. Good luck!

He did the turbo on my car and he is helping me with my engine build (assuming I get the parts...). Robert is a really good guy.

You're best off finding a shop you can go to on a regular basis. No turbo kit is flawless, and you could do some damage. Tuning is the key, and you better know what you're doing.

IMHO, you should go to someone who's local. They'll be able to give you a "kit" faster than going around to different vendors in other parts of the country (although there's nothing against the vendors..just how fast it takes them to ship it out to you). Also, you've gotta get it tuned properly to help give you peace of mind that your engine doesn't blow up in your face. Good luck!
Oh...BTW, from what I've heard, HKS should be releasing their kit sometime by the end of the year (at least that's what I was told).
