Guy here at work (also a huge scooby lover) bought a new 2002 VDC Sedan. That thing is very slick. Super...SUPER quiet. The dealer had one on the lot for show...he called asking when they would get them in...and they just happend to have one in the overflow lot. Went...test drove it. He said even the salesmen hand't been inside it yet either...

and its not on the subaru site :(

I didn't know any dealers had them yet. I doubt you'll see to many of them since they're kinda pricey, especially for a Subie.

Does that come with the H-6 too! A GT with the VDC and the H-6 would be sweet.

Tell him to get in the dirt and do some testing. First with the VDC on, then with the VDC off (although more of a difference will probably be felt in the snow).

So is this technically an Outback or is it a Legacy?

Subaru calls it the Outback Sedan. It has the Outback's raised suspension on a sedan body.

It also has the Outback's lower body panels.

Despite that I'm a 4-banger turbo freak, I do love that H-6... but please, SOA... give us a manual transmission!!

I saw one of those, a 2002 Outback H6 VDC Sedan, at my dealer today. Total suggest retail price with no options was a few dollars shy of $31K. Interior was very nice with wood-effect trim and soft-leather-look upholstery. Seats, outside mirrors and windshield wipers were all heatable and it has external ambient temperature sensor with readout on the instrument panel. Definitely ready for winter! Also standard was a tilt-up or slide-back moon roof. Definitely ready for summer, too.
