What is a fair price, including parts and labor to have an RA gear set installed on 02 WRX wagon?

$2000 is about what to expect out of the car, if nothing is broken. Iif you need to have the GB pulled, factor in a few hundred bucks more. If you do bearings and synchros the cost goes up. Might as well. It is apart.

You are pretty close to RaliSpec.

The gears cost around $1400, installation is around $700, R&R of the tranny is around $400. Add around $200 in there for fudge factor = ~$2500.

i have $2900 in mine $1350 for gearset another $600 for synchro and bearing set and $1000 in labor.

Ouch, i get pissed every time i see how much it costs to fix these trannys. Subaru really dropped the ball on this one.

Mad at the costs.... Look at any transmission. They are pretty expensive to fix because parts are expensive and labor is alot. You cant complain about the labor because most techs/shops warranty there work if something went wrong due to there install. Just be glad you dont have a dsm. A good tranny will last maybe a 2 years if your really nice to it. Subaru Transmissions are fairly reliable considering the price.

You can get a built T56 from D&D for under $2000.00 outright. T5 are ven cheaper. You can buy a Lenco or G force fully load that can handle over 1000hp for under $5000.00. Ya cant even get a 6 Spd with all the necessaryies for under 5K.
