Have the Kartboy Shifter and Bushings installed. 1st through 4th are fantastic, however 5th and 6th are quite sloppy. Also, I find that the reverse ring doesn't seem to be working like it should. I think maybe the cable it way too short and the ring is engaged all the time? Has anyone seen/had these problems or something similar?
Thanks in advance.

interesting. have you checked out the install page peaty did on our website? are you sure that the roll pin on the reverse lockout cable is in correctly? not sure on the 5,6 shifting. you might need the bushings that TIC is making. they might be able to help you with that one.

Yes I read through all of the install info I could find, thats why I resulted to actually posting a question...even with the fear of mockery and flames
I will check the roll pin and make sure its in where it is suppose to be. I can't imagen that there is a "wrong" way of putting it in is there?
If the lock out is in fact engaged, allowing for reverse with out actually moving the ring, that may account for some of the sloppy play for 5th and 6th due to the fact it is letting the shifter travel all the way over for reverse making it difficult to find the forward gears.
Just some randoms thoughts...and thank you for the reply, Tom.

I was just going to suggest this.
There are two things that I would check. First I would have you check the grease for the rollpin to slide up and down in the slot. I have seen it where if you install it dry the ring will actually stick in the unlock position. The second thing I would try is making sure the lockout cable is not kinked or being held in a non-smooth manner.

The third thing I would try is our TIC bushings. :D

Update: It was the reverse lock cable. It was in fact too taught so the cable was adjusted and it released. The sloppy play was due to the fact that the lock out was disengaged all the time allowing for the increased play to reach all the way over to reverse. So, for those of you that may have this problem, double check that you have enough travel in the cable to allow the lock to engage after installation.

cool. now, when you can no longer stand the side to side play in the stick you may want to look into those tic bushings.

If you decide on getting a set of the TiC bushings, I can help you with the install if you'd like. I just did a set on my car a couple of weeks ago. Amazing difference BTW, but my stockers were pretty shot to begin with.

MAJ! You tricky bastard. I can't turn my back for one sec  That would be awesome though. I just ordered them, so I will need some help with the install when they get here.
