Has anyone noticed any adverse effects? I seem to get quite a bit of knock sensor activity when accelerating up Boniface Parkway towards Tudor. Also, despite the cold air, the car feels slower.

since i've been using the shell v-power i haven't had any problems like that , right now i'm running the utec in stock mode til the alky gets in cause if i run any of the stage maps then it knocks but otherwise so far so good , should have the kit sometime at the end of next week or so.

what do you have on your car? the octane really doesnt effect too much on a stock car. it really only does bad things if you have some mods on it. which would create a conditon in which a higher octane would be needed. but, I have heard of higher deposit build up on the valves because of the lower octane.

I know my car sucks on this **** gas. Sometimes i get a good tank though and the car runs pretty good, i only use chevron or shell gas now and both have seemed to work ok so far i guess. I really need to get an alchy kit i suppose, toluene is runnin me too much cash...

I have a completely stock car, but when rolling into the throttle, the car tends to sputter very slightly as the boost comes up, leading me to believe I'm getting some ping and knock sensor activity. My gas mileage has improved slightly since it stopped being really cold.

are you sure you dont have a dirty fuel filter or something? i drove my car around (meaning the wrx) yesterday and it didnt have any problems. if you have a dirty fuel or air filter the same condition can occur. id check these. because i really doubt its the gas that is doing this. IMO

Idle is a little funkier and power band is inconsistent.

I would think that would point to a dirty fuel filter. that would be a cause for the inconsistent power and the uneven idle.

Should the filter even need changing at 40K miles?
