So I read in a magazine(Motor Trend, i think) today about the Saab 9X having GP MOTO stage sets for there cars. If I remember correctly stage In ($9300) was capable of going 13.0 flat in the quarter mile with 320HP? That included upgarde PNP chip, STi intercooler, etc..They also mentioned a stage IV if the first few stages wern't enough. These are factory installed stages.
And I'm assuming that this is all warranteed? If so, why doesn't Subaru do this?
If this is old news, don't flame..Just passing info along.. :D

I have not heard this, so it is not old to me. It does seem a bit pricey to pay nearly $10k on top of a $25+k car just to run 13 flat. Was this a typo?

This was not a typo. It said $9300 on top of the 9X's price. I also remember it saying, they added a VF34 to it also..I thought it was a bit pricey also. And mentioned a comparison to the STi in the article.

What's the problem with Unichip?

They don't like it because its not all bling bling. I'll be the first to say the unichip isn't for everyone. But niether is ANY tuning product out there. I'd NEVER advise the customer with that 9-2X to get a Hydra or Motec, since he "sets it and forgets it", which isn't good in the vastly varible weather we get in this area, or at the very least its $$$ that isn't needing to be spent over a unichip. That said, going for a massive turbo and injectors on a STi? Well the unichip starts to show its limits. Which isn't to say it doesn't work, just that other options would be better.
Also the GPMoto parts on the 9-2x are not 9K. That figure is for EVERYTHING on the car that changed. For those that think that still is high.. don't add up what you spent to have a stage 4 wrx... cause I doubt you will find it any less.
Bling bling, how about because there are better options out there now. Why spend money on a piggyback chip when for less money you can get a reflashed ECU or accessport.
I was making 320hp for about $2k. Those are some expensive wheels, but the 9300 is still a ripoff.
