View Full Version : STi Wagon for the USA??
Bugsie1 02-28-2005, 11:39 PM I'm sure this has been covered already but as my search turned up nothing...
Anyone know or heard if the STi Wagon will come to the USA? I've had my current WRX Wagon since 'D-Day' 2001 (oh what a day) which is now 4 years ago (wow how time flies when you drive a WRX) so it's soon gonna soon be time for a new one. I can't think of any other car I would like more than a 300HP stock AWD Turbo'd Wagon.
Any wildly stupid rumors about 550HP V8 Supercharged Boxers also appreciated...

ps. Hey to all the old-schoolers still reading this forum; you guys obviously have more obsessive personalities than I do. :)
YumGTR 02-28-2005, 11:44 PM i emailed Subaru USA corporate about it through their web site and they said they have absolutely no plans whatsoever to release a wagon version of the STi, especially since there isn't one in Japan either at this time.
Jon [in CT] 03-01-2005, 12:46 AM Are you talking about an Impreza wagon, or a Legacy wagon, or an Outback wagon?
Subahaulic 03-01-2005, 07:21 AM or a Forester?
Prob. means an Impreza wagon--since he has one.
Corkfish 03-01-2005, 09:41 AM This topic has been beaten to death. There is no STI Wagon unless you're talking about the Forester.
Mike Wevrick 03-01-2005, 12:11 PM The are rumors of a Legacy STi coming but it might also be just a sedan. You could get a Legacy GT wagon and mod the engine a bit.

Or you could drop the stock STi powertrain into a WRX wagon. :)
...which I may do depending on what SOA has up its sleeves with the upcoming 6-speed models.

I thought you were dead Richard!
Welcome back, or something :)
blinguskahn 03-01-2005, 07:45 PM My Prediction for future US STi models:
Impreza STi 4-door 350HP
Forester STi 5-door 300HP
Legacy STi 4-door 300+HP
All 6speed and all available in World Rally Blue and STi pink.
Just kidding about the Pink!

sasquatch95 03-02-2005, 01:08 PM if they made it, it would be my next vehicle. I wish they brought the bugeye STI wagon over...so hot:

That car is gorgeous. I don't see why they don't sell the newer version of the car here (Or in Japan at the moment). I suppose the market for wagons is smaller, but there are plenty of people who would prefer the added versatility in their 300hp beast.

it would only take parts they already produce and just applying them to a different body style. Apparently, Subaru feels people wouldn't buy it...but they felt people would buy the Baja?
