i have a 2002 2.5rs gd body and i have come down to two brands of turbo kits, whihc on would you choose?? AVO or the stage 3 FAT turbo kit. or even the stage 4 twin turbo kit. <<----that would be sick! whcih one would you pick and why?? like quaility proformance (top and low end)

don't bother with twin turbo and think seriously why you wouldn't trade up instead.

I can't remember if the FAT Stage 3 came with engine management - the AVO kit came with a Link which is a starter stand-alone engine management. With the EJ251 and 10:1 compression, 9psi is really pushing it. The current AVO kit does 6psi and you would definitely need injectors and pump upgrade to go anywhere beyond that. On my GC, the AVO kit was a tight fit and the installation instruction was brief. There was one critical wiring mistake (swapped ignition signal) but otherwise a well-put kit.

I wouldn't worry about getting the twin turbo either. The FAT stage 3 doesn't require any engine lifting which can be a huge pain, but i don't know whether the other system does or not. I'm looking at getting the FAT stage 3 so im a little biased fyi. One thing thats confusing about the FAT turbo is that it is a 5 psi system that supports 550 hp??? What does that mean...adjustable? Oh yeah, and the FAT stage 3 comes with engine management.

i think when they say its capable of 550hp they mean the turbo can produce more boost if you change wastegate etc. but you would need to do a ton of engine work to get it to support that.

I believe that the AVO comes with a link, not a link plus. The EM that comes with the avo kit is designed to be run in parallel with your stock computer, as far as I have heard.

AVO comes with a Link 1 piggyback for OBDII compliance testing.

AFAIK AVO has just switched to the PerfectPower fully programmable Piggyback instead of the Link management system. I still haven't found the new kit's that ship with PerfectPower but I am told they should be available shortly.
