Dudez, just blew my motor in my 2000 outback. I got a five speed trans. and was wondering if an STI motor would bolt up to it and work? Any suggestions on what I should do? Got a limited buget.

I just don't have enought to purchase a tranny. thanks for the info. The wireing....there seems to be a lot of support for that. Zephyr 03-03-2005, 12:10 AM Why not just do a JDM WRX swap or USDM WRX swap? If you're thinking of doing the USDM STI swap you are going to have major wiring issues. Anything else will be a little easier. Z hawaiioutback 03-03-2005, 01:53 AM truthfully, the power. the wiring issues...would it be worth the hassle? stentorian 03-05-2005, 09:26 PM Are you asking about the engine only? Or the whole thing, engine related w/ your stock tranny? If you keep your stock tranny and bolt up the entire engine (turbo, etc), then I am pretty sure you will have to get a new tranny otherwise it'll blow! Wiring will also suck. You can usually find a JDM Ver 5 or 6 STI front clip for under that $6k, therefore you can buy upgrade for it or parts needed for the swap. -Joe |
